Rankin kicked off 2009 by inviting people across the UK to participate in his most ambitious project to date - Rankin Live! A show of two halves, Rankin Live brought the museum-scale retrospective of the last 22 years in Rankin’s photographic life together with the portraits of 1,500 of today’s British public.
Rankin was looking for people, aged 13 and over, who had a distinctive style, sense of British eccentricity, and enthusiasm. The lucky participants were invited to the Rankin Live exhibition at London's Truman Brewery in August to sit for their personal shoot. The portraits produced on the day were hung as part of the ever-changing exhibition and uploaded online to the Rankin Live website:

Rankin and his team would like to thank everyone who took part in Rankin Live for making it such a momentous project.
